About PPLE Research Group
PPLE aims to study the multifacetedness of leadership, training/learning, development and policy-making in all realms of professional work, particularly the conditions that frame and transform the “practicescape”. To do this requires investigating what this means for practitioners, consumers, developers, higher-educators, policy-makers and leaders. In a global climate of neoliberal (New Public Management) pressures of measurement and performativity there is urgency in studying, for example, broader-scale evidence-based vs evidence-informed practice, and local site-based research examining what this means for practitioners as they go about their everyday daily work, the influence of in-the-moment and policy decision-making and leadership – and even re-shifting understandings of “the essential” in the professions.
